i skipped a smash journal entry. it was supposed to be family but you know, thats too much too soon. not ready to talk about that yet. like to be private about that sort of thing when i can.
so today's journal is "favorite season". frankly, i like them all. but thats a sissy way out. so lets go into what would be a four page layout. well, four page layout for places that have seasons other than hot, windy and cold.
winter - used to be the most favorite season and maybe it still is. i like being able to layer my clothes and wear sweaters and jackets. i love how pretty snow is when it falls and how it reflects light, especially Christmas lights. snow is fun to play in as well. used to snowboard and loved getting out and playing in the snow. its not as exciting now that i'm older and more prone to getting cold but sledding is still pretty fun. and ice skating. that was fun too. hard to believe that i used to do that. my most favorite part of the cold was the freshness after a winter snow when the skies cleared up. you would breathe in and feel the cold air go into your lungs. thats what i miss the most. breathing in the cold thin air.
spring - at some point or another, winter gets boring. i think its about one month after Christmas. i like that you can still layer clothes some days but you can start wearing short sleeved shirts and the occasional pair of shorts. the nights. i love the flowers that come out and how things start turning green. its a nice change from brown and gray (because that's what happens to winter. it starts to get ugly).
summer - summer is hot and i hate being hot. but thats what swimming pools are for. i know i shouldn't enjoy being out in the sun so much since its a major cause of skin cancer but i really love spending my whole day in the pool. i love how the days are longer and that i can wear sandals and shorts every where. i like the ice cream and snow cones and grilling while sipping on a drink. its laid back and its the time of year when we try to take trips. best memory from last summer was floating in Bear Lake, ID the entire day. too fun. had fun camping to although i think the best season for camping is...
fall - a good time of year as things start to cool down and camping becomes a more comfortable option. sure you can camp here pretty much any time of the year but fall seems to be the best. the leaves start changing so it makes for some pretty drives to work. the red and yellow leaves are brilliant. the calves in the fields are buy playing and everyone seems excited that the holiday season is just around the corner. its the time of year you dress up like a goofball and people give you candy. awesome. back home, the air becomes more crisp and clean. good things.
well, thats good for now. reasons why i like the different seasons. :) laters.
